Coming Out in Middle School
Austin who came out of the closet when he was in Middle School. Goes to his first Gay dance party without his boyfriend. Who couldn't get a ride and couldn't ask his parents for permission because it it was still a secret. Austin feels left out while at the dance, but then learns that everybody has gone through the same things he has. Bunch of gay and bi-sexual and lesbian kids tell him stories of when they came out. He no longer feels lonely, now knowing he is where he needs to be. He feels a sense of belonging there, since their is no one who is not weir like him. It is never to late to come out. This is a free country feel free to be whoever you want to be.
A Shot at Cancer
Using technology for a good use, scientist have been researching and experimenting new ways to fight cancer. Dr. Douglas Schwartzentruber and Dr. Larry Kwak have been researching a cancer vaccine and trying to perfect it since 1999. They want to get rid of the toxic effects of chemotherapy and use this vaccine. The immune system is basically trained little by little to identify and fight bad unstoppable bacteria that causes tumors. The vaccine will be like a missile that is going to be used when the good body cells are at their strongest point(recession). They are seeing great progress and hoping that it will help cancer stricken patients.
Teen Gets 15 Years For Death of Passenger
An 18 year old, gets sentencenced 15 years to life in prison for driving his mom's car while intoxicated. Killing the passenger instantly when he crashed it. This is a sad situation to be in. You never know what can happen when you take in a couple drinks. This guy ruined his whole life, by taking the risk of drinking and driving. The death of that girl will remain in his conscience for ever. Devastated his and her family for his poor choice. Never drink and drive and if your old enough and choose to have a designated driver.
Easing 'Zero Tolerance': Texas Changes a Post-Columbine Law
Texas is a very strict state, when it comes to criminal offenses. I think they should worry more about criminals out on the streets. Murderers, rapers, thieves those big bad criminals that do need to be punished. Not poor high school kids that don't have an idea of what they are doing. For example, in the article it talked about police finding a girl's stepbrother's theater prop sword in the back seat of her car. She got taken to a Juvenile detention center, had to enroll in a Alternative Education Program (DAEP) because of her high school suspension. She was a top academic student in her class;she was in National Honor Society. She managed to stay on top while at DAEP. From being the 11th top student in her class to 9th. In her case, even the dumbest person would know that she shouldn't of got that punishment. Other kids who would get in trouble like that wouldn't event try to stay in school. Texas should ease up on those kind of policies.

Chrysler Still the Laggard, Despite Cash for Clunkers
I think "Cash for Clunkers" was a great idea! Dealerships have reported dramatic increases in sales than before. It is good for the environment good for the consumer and the economy. It is a ray of light in gloomy darkness for the U.S. economy. Best of all is that the metal from the clunkers is being recycled! Everybody is happy!
